About Alpha Distribution

Alpha Distribution ltd was form in December 1999 by John Camm. His vision was to bring quality products at an affordable price into the UK diving market. Seac sub was the brand which over the next five years became a household name. From working from an office at home with the stock in the garage it was evident from the start that bigger premises were needed.

So in less than 6 months Mitchell Enterprise Centre in the village of Wombwell in South Yorkshire would become the base for the next 2 years. Growing fast, we picked up a major contract to supply diving equipment and diving instructors into Haven Holiday camps.

To give you some idea of the scale of this in 2004 we did 26,000 try dives with children and adults alike in the entire Haven and British holiday camps in the UK.

More administration staff was needed to cope with our growth and the move to Alpha House took place in early 2003. Our new facility is 15,000 square feet comprising of 6 offices and a large warehouse. We have more than enough room for future growth if needed.

Alpha’s core business now is the French brand Beuchat, founded by George Beuchat in the Thirties; The Company Beuchat has been involved in the development of all aspect of underwater activities. George Beuchat conducted many experimental dives. All the early developments in diving were conducted of the coast of Marseille.

1953 George Beuchat invented the first isothermal diving suit.
1964 The "Jet Fin" was created. This product is still in production today, and is used by Military & Commercial Divers all over the world. Over 40 years without any modifications.

For more than sixty years Beuchat has been at the fore front in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of new products which have marked the history of diving and spear fishing.Distributed around the world into 80 countries, Beuchat is recognised worldwide as a market leader in the fields of Scuba Diving and Spear Fishing

Beuchat is complemented by our very popular range of Sea Scooters. An absolute must for water lovers, the revolutionary SEASCOOTERS where designed by Sir Clive Sinclair. They are the lightest and most efficient personal water propellers in the world, making them hard to resist. They are sleek, have a compact design and are great fun to use.

2006 saw the introduction into our range of Si Tech diving products. This Swedish brand specialises in Dry Suit inflation and exhaust systems along with a very novel Dry Glove system.

Finally probably the best selling torch in Europe today “The Frogman” from LED Lenser. Said to be “the Brightest Back up Torch seen to date” by Charles Hood of Dive Magazine when he tested it in 2006. Led Lenser’s has improved this little wonder. It is now 50 percent brighter with low energy impact on the batteries thanks to the latest Cree Chip LED innovation.
